Grace Freeman, clog dancing instructor
Grace began clogging in the 1990ís in Madison, Wisconsin with the Cripple Creek Cloggers. As a troupe they performed in parades and shows all over Dane County. She also danced and performed with troupes in Florida and Kentucky.
While in Florida she took Step Dancing lessons at an Irish Dance school in Sarasota. Since moving to South Dakota in 1997 Grace has been dancing with various cloggers who move into this area, usually from Utah. Grace, Kelsey Collier-Wise, and Merragin Iddings formed the Clay County Cloggers about 7 years ago, as they started performing around Vermillion.
The Clay County Cloggers meet weekly throughout the year, practicing the Washington Street Arts Center in Vermillion. Beginner and Advanced lessons are offered each semester at a reasonable rate. Grace also offers Beginner Irish Dance classes the five weeks prior to St. Patrickís Day.
